On the morning of November 7th, the Tenth Young Teachers Teaching Skills Contest Final and the Fourth English Teaching Contest jointly organized by the Teacher Development Center, the School Union, and Office of Academic Affairs, the Personnel Department officially kicked off. After strict selection of school heats and university preliminary contest, 21 young teachers from 12 colleges reached the final of the English Teaching Contest in the end.

This time the contestants cover the major subjects such as literary, history and philosophy, art, science, engineering and medicine. The jury consisted of famous teachers, school leaders, who made comprehensive judgment and evaluation of contestant's teaching design, teaching content, teaching forms, teaching process, teaching effects, combined with teachers' appearance, manners and language.

After a series of fierce competition, Teacher Liao Yi from Eye Institute of Xiamen University won the first prize in the Fourth English Teaching Contest of Xiamen University (science & engineering group).
