Cultivating Types and Goals:
The graduate students who Eye Institute of Xiamen University is going to recruit are divided into two types: one is for graduate students to study for a degree in medical science and life science (Science), with the goal to cultivate researchers who will be engaged in ophthalmology basic theory or applied basic theory, focusing on the cultivation of academic theoretical level and experiment research ability, including ophthalmic medicine, oncology, molecular biology, cell biology, physiology and other professional directions; the other type is for degreein clinical medicine, in order to cultivate high-level ophthalmic clinicians and application-oriented ophthalmic talents, focusing on the cultivation of clinical and medical work ability and clinical research ability in ophthalmology.
Cultivating Mode:
Independent Cultivating: tutors of Eye Institute will develop a personalized cultivation plan for each graduate student according to the different professional backgrounds and the research directions. On this basis, according to the different research directions and research progress, the Eye Institute will weekly carry out difficult problems seminar and discussions of key issues and hot issue on a regular basis, and will invite the international and domestic experts and scholars related to the research direction to give guest lectures.
Joint Cultivating: Eye Institute has established long-term stable relations of cooperation with many international and domestic famous universities and independent research institutions, to provide a high level platform for the joint cultivating of the postgraduate. The joint cultivating plan cooperated with foreign universities annually funds one or two doctoral candidates to undertake cooperation study one or two years at the cooperation colleges and universities in the United Kingdom, the United States and other countries.
Advocating open and self-motivated cultivating mode, Eye Institute emphasizes the graduate students closely combine the self-study with the tutor advising, to strengthen the graduate students' scientific research thinking and practice ability training.Through the optimization of source of graduate students and strengthening the construction of the tutor team, it has realized coordination and rapid development of the graduate education in the aspects of scale, quality, structure, etc..
Cultivation of Master Graduates:
Cultivating Goals: to fully grasp the basic knowledge of the field, to master the basic research technology of the field, to be able to track the field trends, to have certain ability to undertake independent scientific research.
Cultivating Objects: to recruit those outstanding undergraduates from all over China, with majors related to clinical medicine (surgery) , pharmacology, oncology, molecular biology, cell biology, physiology, and microbiology.
Mode of Recruiting: there are two modes of master graduate enrollment plan of Xiamen University: 1) admission by taking part in the national exam, passing the written examination and a comprehensive assessment of interview result and written examination. 2) We also recruit the excellent undergraduates who obtained test-freeeligibility recommended by national universities. Specific enrollment information shall be subject to the general rules of Xiamen University Postgraduate Enrollment Brochures.
Cultivating Advantages: Eye Institute annually provides a certain number of opportunities for outstanding students to directly become doctoral candidate and to study abroad; all students during the Master will have the opportunity to attend national academic conferences, and some outstanding students will have the opportunity to participate in international academic conferences.

Cultivating Goals: to systematically have an in-depth understanding of professional knowledge in the field of this research, to master the latest scientific research trends of the research field, to have excellent scientific research quality and strong innovationability.
Cultivating Objects: to recruit doctoral candidate from all over China and overseas, with majors related to ophthalmology, physiology, molecular biology, cell biology, etc..
Mode of Recruiting: there are three modes of doctoral candidate enrollment plan of Xiamen University:
