Beijing Time 9:30 p.m. on January 13, 2016, Eastern Time 8:30 a.m.in the United States, network again connected teachers and students from Xiamen University and Harvard University together. The third Xiamen University-Harvard University Ophthalmology Video Academic Conference was held as scheduled both in conference room of Eye Institute of Xiamen University at Xiang 'An campus and in conference room of Schepens Eye Institute of Harvard University at Boston, the United States.
The meeting had a total of more than 100 participants from Eye Institute of Xiamen University and Schepens Eye Institute. The academic discussions were carried out in the meeting centering on the theme-the ocular surface inflammation injury, for which Professor Chen Yongxiong and Professor Pablo Argüeso respectively made wonderful reports titled "Keratocyte is real player to promote corneal neovascularization" and "the Role of endomucin as a surface barrier to inflammation". Both scholars had a heated discussion on the new research results and new ideas presented in the reports.
Finally, Professor Liu Zuguo, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Committee of Xiamen University, dean of medical school, director of Eye Institute and Professor Reza Dana, director of Schepens Eye Institute of Harvard University, respectively made closing summarization, and put forward the new plan about the future cooperation and communication for both sides.
Xiamen University-Harvard University Ophthalmology Video Academic Conference has been successfully held three times, and has become a normalized academic activity in the Ophthalmology communication between two schools. Eye Institute of Xiamen University carries out network video academic conference with foreign high-level universities on a regular basis, which not only promotes full communication among the teachers and students from eye institute and international peers to understand the forefront trends of the ophthalmic research, but also expands the international cooperation space of researchers and broadens the international horizon of the graduate students.
