In accordance with related regulations of Fujian Provincial Key Laboratory of Ophthalmology and Visual Science (Xiamen University), in order to give full play to the laboratory subject advantages and research conditions, to encourage and facilitate the cooperation and exchange with counterparts at home and abroad, to cultivate innovative thinking, to improve the level of scientific research in this field, the laboratory is intending to set 3-6 open subject projects in 2016, with supporting strength of 10,000-30,000 Yuan/Project, duration of 1 to 2 years. The open subject projects setting is intending to combine with the study direction of the laboratory and subject development trend. All candidates complying with the subjects of the following research directions shall be welcomed to apply to the laboratory, and set up the project after the examination and approval of the laboratory professor committee.

The main research directions:

(1) Dry eye cellular and molecular mechanism research.

(2) New animal model establishment for ocular surface disease.

(3) Innovational medicine for ocular surface and corneal diseases.

Subject application and related instructions:

(1) The study period of this year's open fund subjects is normally 1 to 2 years. The initial execution time is September 1, 2016, and the application deadline is August 15, 2016. Please refer to the application form in guideline attachment, also the form can be downloaded from the website (http://eye.xmu.edu.cn/) of Fujian Provincial Key Laboratory of Ophthalmology and Visual Science. Please send the paper-edition application form with signature and filled- in electronic version to our office according to the requirement.

(2) A concluding summary is required after the science fund project is completed. The academic papers completed under this funded subject shall be assessed mainly.

(3) "Funded by Fujian Provincial Key Laboratory of Ophthalmology and Visual Science Open Subject" should be indicated in case of papers publishing,application for patents and awards.

(4) In principle, the subject fund is limitedly used within Xiamen University campus. In case of surplus funds 24 months later after the project starts, the laboratory will recover it. Also, the laboratory will welcome those who bring their own subjects and funds to do research by using the laboratory instruments and equipment, or to carry out scientific research cooperation.
