Profile:
Having conducted research work in the medical science area for over two decades in well known national and international research institutions, including Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions (JHMI), New York University, University of Toronto, Tokyo University and Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences (CAMS), Dr. Zhou returned to China and joined the faculty of Xiamen University in 2008. Currently his research focus is in the basic research of ocular surface diseases, mainly the role of signaling pathway in the pathogenesis of ocular surface diseases and the discovery of new anti-inflammation, anti-angiogenesis and anti-oxidant drugs in the treatment of ocular surface diseases. Dr. Zhou is also a reviewer of international peer-reviewed journals, e.g. British Journal of Pharmacology, IOVS, etc.
